  Diabetes is a chronic disease that occurs either when the pancreas does not produce enough insulin or when the body can't effectively use the insulin it produces. Insulin is an hormone that regulates blood glucose. Uncontrolled diabetes can cause raised blood glucose (hyperglycaemia) and over time it leads to serious damage to the body's systems. Symptoms of diabetes can occur suddenly. In type 2 diabetes they can be mild and may take many years to be noticed. The symptoms may include: feeling very thirsty, needing to urinate more than usual, blurred vision, feeling tired, losing weight unintentionally. Over time, diabetes can damage blood vessels in the heart, eyes, kidneys and nerves. TYPE 1 DIABETES It's characterized by deficient insulin production and requires daily introduction of insulin.   We need constant oxygen supply to our surviv al, a nd a heart attack generally occurs when the blood flow gets hampered due to certain reasons. SYMPTOMS The primary  symptoms  are: breathing problems, cold sweat, indigestion, fatigue, sudden dizziness,  pressure  aching sensation in the chest. These basic symptoms are quite common but they can vary between people. Some diabetic patients have silent symptoms. DIAGNOSIS Depending on all the risk factors and the symptoms associated to the disease, doctors can ask you to have some tests done. During emergencies,  a physical exam to review your medical history along with ECG or electrocardiogram inevitably becomes the first step to diagnose a heart attack.  To evaluate your heart function, the cardiologist might also use invasive procedures involving specialised medical equipment. TREATMENT The duration and the treatm ent  depend on your initial assessment.

The brain

  The brain is a complex organ which controls: thoughts, memory, emotion, touch, motor skills, vision, temperature, hunger and every process that controls our body. The central nervous system is made of: the brain and the spinal cord . How does it work? The brain receives chemical and electrical signals throughout all our body. Each signal controls a different process, and the brain interprets the signals. This signals alert our brain, like for example the pain. Some messages are kept within the brain, and others are relayed to the distant extremities (for this the the nervous system has nerves ). The structure of the brain. It is divided in three units: the forebrain , the midbrain and the hindbrain .     - Forebrain: It is the largest region of the brain. I nside the cerebrum, it happens important functions of the brain, like thinking, planning, reasoning, language processing and interpreting. How do transplantations work?

A transplantation is a surgical procedure where  organ/s, tissue or group of cells are removed  from a person (the donor ) and transplanted to another person (the recipient ). Also, there's the  posibility of moving an organ from one place to another in the same person. Types of transplants:     -Transplants of tissues in the same person. It's a transplant from one part of the person's body to another part -it's called autotransplantation . Some examples are: skin graft, blood vessel graft, bone graft, bone marrow graft...     -Transplants from other people. A transplantation between two people who are not genetically identical -it's called allotransplantation .   For some transplants (especially bone marrow), there is also the possibility that immune cells in the donated bone marrow will recognise the host’s body as foreign and attack the cells of the host.
