Chlamydia
Chlamydia is a common sexually transmitted infection. Men and women can have it. The bacterium is Chlamydia trachomatis, which is easily cured by antibiotics. It's important to treat it, if not it can cause serious health problems. Some of the problems it can produce is infertility and ectopic pregnancy.
Prevention
The best way to prevent it is the correct use of condoms during anal and vaginal intercourse. It is the only way, actually.
During pregnancy, if you have chlamydia you must have your treatment so the infection isn't transmitted to the baby.
There are no vaccines to prevent it.
Symptoms
Many people with chlamydia have no symptoms or only mild symptoms. If they occur, they're gonna appear three weeks after having sex with someone with chlamydia.
In women it can cause a change in vaginal discharge, bleeding between menstrual periods or after sex, pain or discomfort in the lower abdomen, burning sensation when urinating.
In men it can cause burning when urinating, discharge from the penis, pain or discomfort in the testicles.
Annal infection in men and women can cause pain, discharge, bleeding.

Diagnosis
Molecular test are one option. There are some rapid tests at the pharmacy, but they're poorly compared to the molecular tests.
